The Government of Odisha has set up the Odisha State Commission for Women, a statutory body under the Odisha State Commission for Women Act, 1993 (Odisha Act 19 of 1994) for protection and promotion of rights and entitlements of women and to deal with atrocities, offences and gender-based violence against them in the State. The basic objective for which the Commission has been set up is to ensure a women friendly society where the dignity and safety of women in every sphere of life is well protected and women can enjoy their life with dignity and without fear or despair.
I am happy to mark the launch of the new website of the Odisha State Commission for Women, a significant step toward enhancing transparency, accessibility, and citizen-centric services. This platform provides easy access to information, grievance redressal, and awareness on women’s rights and initiatives of the Commission. I am confident it will strengthen public engagement, promote accountability, and support the empowerment of women across Odisha. I sincerely appreciate all who contributed to this initiative and encourage citizens to make active use of this platform as we work together towards a safer and more inclusive Odisha.
