Hon’ble Chairperson of Odisha State Commission for Women Visits Kendujhar District today on 07.10.2026, Smt. Sovana Mohanty, Chairperson, Odisha State Commission for Women (OSCW), visited Kendujhar District to interact with women workers and review issues concerning the safety, security, and welfare of women.
During her visit, Hon’ble Chairperson interacted with women mine workers at Kumundi village under Banspal ICDS Project and discussed their working conditions, welfare, and various concerns.
She subsequently visited Shakti Sadan, Baniapat, and the One Stop Centre at Mandua. During the visit, she interacted with the inmates and enquired about their family circumstances, well-being, and safety. She also discussed the support and protection being provided to them.
Later, Hon’ble Chairperson met the Superintendent of Police, Kendujhar, and discussed matters relating to the safety and security of women in the district and measures required to strengthen their protection.
The visit focused on understanding the concerns of women at the grassroots level and ensuring effective measures for their safety, welfare, and empowerment.
